Personalized Care Approach
Approach to treatment
To assist persons in moving toward their goals and overall wellness, Kathleen uses a variety of approaches in treatment, including whole person care, relationship-centered communication, transparency, medication management, individual talk therapy, and direct communication.
I utilize integrative treatment strategies that are individualized, healing-centered, and evidenced-based to manage symptoms including medication management, supportive therapy, and holistic alternative approaches. I focus on healing from a whole health perspective with the goal of empowering people to pursue a comprehensive and holistic model of mental health and wellness as part of their overall treatment goals.
What Can You Expect From Your First Session with Kathleen McDermott
During an initial diagnostic evaluation visit, my primary goal is to understand the challenges the person is having from their perspective and to create the foundation of a trusting and therapeutic relationship. From there, we will discuss options for treatment and together create a plan to address the challenges the person has identified.
In our first meeting, my goal is to create a safe and judgment free environment where I can understand the things that are important to you. We will explore your concerns and consider potential treatment strategies based upon the options and your preferences.
